Surface Labs is a node-based procedural texture authoring application. You build textures and materials by connecting nodes into a graph and adjusting their parameters. See the Overview for more.

Every build except for iPad comes from the store page on itch.io:

iPad builds go out through TestFlight rather than the App Store, and the beta is open to anyone. See Install & Platforms.

Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPad. See Install & Platforms for downloads and minimum requirements.

Yes, after the first time the app is online. The manual is not shipped inside the application: it downloads from this website on first launch and is cached on disk, so it is always current, it updates without an app update, and it keeps working with no connection. Illustrations are fetched as you read the articles that use them, and Settings → Library → Documentation can download them all at once. A device that has never been online has no manual yet.

No. 8192 is desktop-only. iPadOS and Android stop at 4096, and an 8K project opened on one of them is reduced to fit. See Performance & Memory.

The itch.io page showed the current pricing.
